Bat droppings were found during the refurbishment of an indoor play space – which had an attached restaurant/pub, that had been fire damaged. Ecology surveys revealed a maternity roost of Soprano Pipistrelle bats living behind the cladding of the building.
A bat license was applied for and granted, allowing the supervised replacement of damaged cladding boards and the installation of a large bat box into the building. Several smaller bat boxes were also installed on trees surrounding the building.
