A Rare Sighting
Some of our ecology team recently spotted this rare creature while undertaking monitoring work on a badger sett.
There was some question we may have found an erythristic badger – much paler than the typical black and white badger, still with the same markings, but reddish-pink in colour. However, our badger is truly white – like a mini polar bear with pink eyes! Albino badgers are particularly rare. You’ve only got to Google ‘albino badger’ to see they make the news!
White, red, or black and white, badgers and their setts are protected by UK law. It is therefore imperative that expert advice is sought when faced with these mighty mammals. Our team of ecologists are always happy to advise and assist where needed – even with the rarest of creatures!
