John Ray Infant and Junior School
Scope of Work:
Concept through to detailed landscape design for the re-building of an infant and primary school, which was devastated by fire.
The design provides a robust and flexible solution with a safe and welcoming entrance, car park, areas for sitting, play and planting. There is shelter, shade and varying spaces for different activities. low-key, simple and effective features create further interest, including children's seats, pencil fences and a willow snake which also provides some enclosure.
The commission also included for liaison with the school community, co-ordination with the design and contractor's team and input into the planning process.
We also provided arboricultural support and advice which enabled most trees to be retained and protected.
